Heading 1
The Pomona College health and safety guidelines set forth in this policy are established by College leadership in consultation with LA County public health guidelines for businesses, events and gatherings and Institutes for Higher Education. Given Pomona College’s unique residential and educational setting, campus guidelines must incorporate several different County policies that prioritize the safety of our community. As such, they may be more restrictive than the publicly practiced guidelines at other venues.

Vaccination Status
-
Many state and county COVID-19 safety guidelines distinguish by vaccination status.
-
Event attendees may be asked to disclose their vaccination status either directly or through self-attestation.
-
Self-attestation may be indirect, such as abiding by signage that requires unvaccinated people to wear masks.
-
Event attendees may be asked to disclose their vaccination status either directly or through self-attestation.
-
Self-attestation may be indirect, such as abiding by signage that requires unvaccinated people to wear masks.
-
Self-attestation may also be direct, such as explicitly requesting vaccination status disclosure during the event ticketing process or on a risk waiver.
-
-
Attendees may also be asked to demonstrate vaccination status by showing a copy of their vaccination card upon entry.
-
Mask Policies
-
Public health authorities indicate that masks are strongly recommended indoors for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status.
-
Masks are strongly recommended for all attendees, regardless of vaccination status, at outdoor events under the following conditions:
-
When a group of 50 or more people are engaged in “active” events, such as dancing, singing and shouting or when interacting closely with one another, such as at a reception or social event.
-
-
When a group is together for two hours or more and/or social distancing cannot be maintained.
-
Masking requirements will be communicated via signage and/or event-specific communications.
-
Where the masking policy distinguishes by vaccination status, AICCU may elect to require documentation of vaccination status.
-
Masks that provide the best protection against COVID-19 should be worn. Examples include a well-fitting respirator (e.g., N95, KN95) or a double mask (a well-fitting cloth mask over a medical mask).
